Randy works as an Account Manager in the personal lines division working with clients on their personal home, auto, umbrella insurance and other risk personal risk management. Randy is also an avid runner. He recently participated in the “Run to the Clouds” which is a race up Mount Washington! Here is his take:
The 53nd annual “Run to the Clouds” took place on June 15, 2013. The historic all-uphill 7.6 mile run draws thousands of runners from across New England, throughout the U.S., and from countries as close as Canada and as far away as Kenya, to make the grueling climb to the summit of the highest peak in the Northeast.
The winner made it to the top in 59:57.
This was my first “Run to the Clouds” and I finished in a respectable 2:08:03.
The weather was beautiful. I recommend this adventure for runners who want more than just a race. The view and scenery was breathtaking and can’t be beat. After the race, at the base of the mountain, we were treated to a turkey dinner with all the fixings.
I’m now training for the Providence Rock-N-Roll Half Marathon in September and the Disney Marathon in January 2014.
