If you are in a third world country or area that may not have medical care on par of that in the United States; you may be in trouble if you are not able to make it back to the US for treatment. It may also be cripplingly expensive to get a medical evacuation flight. It may not even be possible.<\/p>\n With a lesser injury many foreign countries make you pay upfront for any procedures. This is often not considered and can be a huge roadblock to medical care.
