Founded in 1900, Deland, Gibson has grown as a trusted advisor in insurance and risk management, while staying family-run for four generations.
Our Story

1900: Founded in Boston by Charles E. Deland as The Deland Insurance Agency.

1935: Nephew George Gibson takes over, leading until 1986.

1986: Son Charlie Gibson becomes President & CEO, serving 30+ years.

2014: Benefits department launched.

2015: Fourth generation: Charlie's sons—Chip (CEO) and Ted (President)—join leadership.

2021-2025: Acquired seven agencies across Massachusetts.
